SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH KAYLEE CAVANAUGH
She doesn't see dead people, but...
She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally.
Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about the need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next...

My review :  I loved this book. I rarely like everything about a book, and this is one of those special books.
Kaylee can sense when someone is going to die. And when she does she has the urge to scream at the top of her lungs. She meets Nash who is the only one who can calm her down.
At the middle of the book Nash drops a bomb that I really wasn't expecting. Also, at the end of the book something really unexpected happens and a lot of things start making sense.
I really admire Uncle Brendon. He is a great character and he has a great personality.
I also admire Kaylee because she could ignore her cousin who was really bad to her. I would  probably(for sure) start screaming and bang her head on a wall.
The plot is great and Rachel Vincent knew exactly how to transform an old mith in a contemporary reality.
Nash seemed very surprised when he found out that Kaylee was right about the girl's death(the one in the club), which made me belive he really didn't know anything about her special ability.
Conclusion: A great book and a great plot. I definitley want to read the next books and see what happens next with Kaylee, Nash and her families.

Rule #3: Don't stare at invisible faeries.
Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty—especially if they learn of her Sight—and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens.

Rule #2: Don't speak to invisible faeries.
Now faeries are stalking her. One of them, Keenan, who is equal parts terrifying and alluring, is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer.

Rule #1: Don't ever attract their attention.
But it's too late. Keenan is the Summer King who has sought his queen for nine centuries. Without her, summer itself will perish. He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost—regardless of her plans or desires.

Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe are working anymore, and everything is on the line: her freedom; her best friend, Seth; her life; everything.

Faerie intrigue, mortal love, and the clash of ancient rules and modern expectations swirl together in Melissa Marr's stunning 21st century faery tale

My review: This book wasn't how I expected it to be. I thought it would be a lot more interesting. The description was amazing and also the first half of the book. But the end was disappointing.
Aislinn is used to be able to see faeries. And belives that they are evil. She meets Keenan, she seems to fall in love with him, and belives that she will be the queen of summer.
Keenan is helped by Donia, the winter's girl, the one that Keenan thought would be the queen before. He makes Aislinn come with him somewhere and makes her half faerie, until she will choose either try becoming the queen and killing Beira, the evil winter's queen and Keenan's mother and risk everything, either becoming a summer's girl and risk the whole faerie world. I thought the plot was great, but in the end, Aislinn becomes the summer queen and falls in the arms of Seth, her best friend, and Keenan and Donia become lovers after Donia becomes the new winter's queen.
I was expecting something more risky. Maybe a problem in the faerie world, but everything ended happily.
Conclusion:  I was expecting more, especially with such a promissing start. However, the books have no connection between them.

Never cry werewolf

"Okay, so maybe Shelby has made a few mistakes with boys lately (how was she supposed to know Wes had “borrowed” that Porsche?).  But her step-mother totally overreacts when she catches Shelby in a post-curfew kiss with a hot senior.  Suddenly Shelby’s summer plans are on the shelf, and she’s being packed off to brat camp. It’s good-bye, prom dress; hello, hiking boots.
Things start looking up, though, when Shelby meets fellow camper (and son of a rock star) Austin Bridges, III. But soon she realizes there’s more to Austin than crush material—his family has a dark secret, and he wants Shelby’s help guarding it. Shelby knows that she really shouldn’t be getting tangled up with another bad boy…but who is she to turn her back on a guy in need, especially such a good looking one? One thing’s for sure, that pesky full moon is about to get her into trouble all over again."

My review : I found this book very interesting. Simply written and with a very good plot.
Shelby had very bad stepmother ( I hate that kind of people) that manipulates her father to send her in a brat camp. She avoided being sent in the red canion camp in the desert, and went to a more convenient one.
She meets Austin who is the son of a rockstar and a werewolf. He asks Shelby to help him steal a special medicine that helped him  not becoming a werewolf at full moon wich had been taken by the camp director because he thought it was a drug.
However,in the end she gets sent to the red canion camp for missbehaving(succeded to steal the medicine from the office).
She has a surprise. After miles of running in the desert and hundreds of push ups, she sees a guy wearing a leather jacket. And the only guy she knows to be so crazy to wear a leather jacket in the desert is Austin. And then they fall in love.
I liked the idea of her being really suspicious about him. In most of the books the girl falls in the arms of the guy and than there comes the happy ending. Here, we know that there were going to be problems in the futurewith the step mother and the brat camps.
If there was a series I would surely buy the next book and read it.
Conclusion:  If you like werewolf stories , you can definetley try this one. A good book to read near the fire when it's raining.

Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, Ever can see auras, hear people's thoughts, and know a person's entire life story by touch. Going out of her way to avoid human contact and suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen.
Damen Auguste is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy. He's the only one who can silence the noise and random energy in her head—wielding a magic so intense, it's as though he can see straight into her soul. As Ever is drawn deeper into his enticing world of secrets and mystery, she's left with more questions than answers. She has no idea just who he really is—or what he is. The only thing she knows to be true is she's falling deeply and helplessly in love with him.

My Review : I liked this book. I got it as a gift from my grandparents.
I liked the fact that Ever wasn't quite happy with her paranormal powers. She calms down her powers by listening to music, method that I know is useful even if I just listen to music to concentrate.
When she had a NDE-Near to death experience- She lost her family and her sister who she is now able to see as a ghost. Than she meets Damen Auguste, who seems to be able to stop the thoughts of the other people to come in her mind. She is atracted to him in a very strange way. He always gives her a red tulip. When Haven, her best friend starts going out with Drina, the Evil Ex wife of Damen, She start's having problems.
Drina was the one who killed Ever in her past lifes one after another in a sadistic way.
I liked the idea of magic and the fact that everything you can imagine can be real. The idea of taking power from the nicest memories in your life.
The fact that all the things happening were leading more to some kind of vampire and after that it turns out that Damen was Immortal was a very interesting twist in the book.
However, I think Drina was to easy to kill in this life, but considering the fact that there were a lot of other times when Ever was the one who was killed,it is not such a bad thing. In fact, the bad character has to die in the end. Also I thought It was a good thing she didn't choose Damen at the first time but she understod that she had made the wrong decision and let her sister go.
Conclusion : I liked the book. However,it didn't really make me want to read the next books. But it made me a little curious.

I am a Beast.A beast. Not quite wolf or gorilla or dog,but a horrible new creature with fangs , claws, and hair springingfrom every pore.I am a walking monster.
You think I'm talking fairy tales ?No way. The place is New York City. The time is now.And I'll stay this way forever - unless I can break the spell.
Yes, the spell, the one in my English class cast. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night ? I'll tell you. I'll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy who wished you were, with money, perfect looks, the perfect girl, and perfect life. And then, I'll tell you how I became perfectly...beastly.

My review:  I was expecting that Beastly would be the Twillight kind of book. He finds the girl and they fight against the wicked witch. But no. It was a sensible kind of book about how,Adrian ( Kyle ),not only finds out what true love means, but he learns how to appreciate the beautiful things in life.
He lives in a world  full of superficiality and money and where a dress and a pair of heels mean the most to some people.  Kyle was the perfect example of a filthy rich and full of himself guy, surrounded by a lot of fake friends and girls that want him just for his popularity.
His father was a pretty strange guy who didn't want people to know that his son was a beast.
I loved the idea that Kendra (the witch) was friendly with him and the idea of the chat at the beggining of each part and the magic mirror. Also the wish that he made so Magda would be with her family and that Will would be able to see again.
A really beautiful book and a great idea of putting a classic story in these days.
Conclusion: If you want to read a good book, give it a try. I can't wait to read "A kiss in time", the new version of the sleeping beauty by the same author.

" For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school,no matter how much her best friend,Vee,pushes them at her.
But after a series or terrifying encounters,Nora's not sure who to trust.Patch seems to be everywhere she is,and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide wether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsetteling than anything Patch makes her feel at that moment.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal ant those that have fallen-and,when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life."-

My Review:                I borrowed this book from a friend who was desperate about it. She loved it from the first page. I wasn't quite sure about it so I asked her for the book.
It didn't catch me from the first page, it was about the middle when it made me actually want to read more. I was surprised to see that the reader doesn't find out about what Patch is at the first time. Not the kind of "ooooooh,Pach is a fallen angel ! "
It all starts in biology, where Nora and Patch are parteners, and since then, she starts experiencing weird things. She starts seing things that actually aren't real.
Nora begins acting strange when she suspects Patch for the things that are happening. She even wears a wig and spies him, which I think is a bit over the top.
The thing I liked the most was the fact that I could never have guessed who the bad guy was.
Simply written, easy to read for those who like this kind of book.
Conclusion: A nice book to read if you are full of vampires and werewolfs, but you are still searching for the paranormal part.
